Strategic Development

Each university or college will have multi-year strategic goals to help the business operate, innovate, and grow. Expede worked with a  number of institutions to help realise their goals.

While all institutions will have internal strategic aspirations to grow and change, some strategic change is driven by the market or sector such as Data Futures, apprenticeship strategies, sustainability targets and new technology.  Expede helps universities and colleges develop their change plans, and ensure that each of their goals/desired outcomes are underpinned by a robust programme plan with realistic workstreams, timeframes, and budget to enable successful delivery.

Examples of recent projects include:

  • London Campus– Developed the strategic direction and outline budgets for the digital elements of a new London Campus.
  • TOM Refocus Programme– Managed the Change Programme to restructure a 400-strong media production unit, their processes and supporting systems. This positioned the unit to respond to changes in the sector whilst gaining cost-effectiveness and production efficiencies.
  • International MBA- Created a programme plan for a commercial partnership project whilst the recruitment process was underway.
  • Apprenticeships Management– Developed business case and solution design for a university-wide end-to-end Apprenticeship Management System. Expansion of the Apprenticeship offering was at the heart of the university strategy for increasing revenue. This included forming an apprenticeships student journey and ensuring they had appropriate systems and processes to support them as students.
  • Data Futures– Created and managed the programme of work to support the business and system change to deliver on the university commitments to HEFCE and Office for Students while improving the governance, data quality and access to student data.
