Universities need to improve student outcomes at every point along the student journey. This means proactively identifying students who are underachieving, at risk from withdrawing or need additional support to succeed by providing the appropriate and timely interventions.
In order to engage and support students throughout their educational journey and provide appropriate, personalised, and timely support. The education sector needs to develop the capabilities and processes to effectively capture and utilise data, have robust integrated technical systems, and offer supportive services.
Expede understands the complexity and challenges of student engagement strategies, and has worked closely with a number of universities develop an approach to raise their current capabilities and enhance their processes to ensure successful student outcomes.
Examples of recent projects include:
- Student Engagement Processes- Business Case through to delivery of Phase 1&2 of a ‘Project of Care’ to identify and support students at risk by using key data indicators. Working across 4 faculties to identify, capture and analyse data and build workflows and intervention plans to support students.
- Student Engagement Systems and Data– Creation of the business case and programme plan to improve the student experience and engagement by supporting business and system changes in areas of student services, student records, engagement, disabilities, recruitment, and support. The aim was to achieve this by adapting, improving, or replacing technology and processes at many stages of the student lifecycle from recruitment to alumni.
- Access, Widening Participation and Inclusion– Business Case, planning and phase 1 delivery for the transition of Access, Widening Participation and Inclusion business processes into the University CRM to capture data to support and improve student engagement.
- Students Events System- Bring together all non-core and co-curriculum events into a single system with supporting business processes and change to improve student engagement and the student experience and underpin the Education strategy.
